I cancelled an interview for a teaching job...?

...after I explained that my family was not able to relocate at this time. The HR person I spoke to was understanding, nice, and suggested that I could resubmit my application in the future. Should I submit an application next year when we are better prepared to move, if I am still interested in this job? Have I totally lost this opportunity or will they remember me at all next year?
