Guys, would you ask her to sit down if you didn't like her in that way?

I was in the library and saw two of my guy friends. Both were on computers on different sides of the room, a few metres away from each other. I was walking back to forth talking to both of them. They could both hear my conversation with the other. Then one of them said "get a chair and sit down" and pointed beside himself. Does he like me or was it just politeness?
